 So who is Ken Ivins? He has lived in Saratoga Springs since 1988 with his wife Kim and two children. He grew up in the Philadelphia area but also lived in Vermont for nine years before moving to Saratoga Springs.
Ken’s professional experience has included selling Radio advertising in two different states for over nine years. He was the full time President of the Southern Saratoga Chamber of Commerce in Clifton Park. For the last eight years, Ken has sold computers and taught computer classes for the BOCES Adult Continuing Education Program. He has also grown his own computer technician business, Ivins Consulting.
Ivins Consulting is a computer technician company that assists a wide range of businesses and individuals. Ken works with individuals helping them with computer issues or just tutoring them on computer use. Yes he makes house calls
 . He also helps businesses with a wide range of services, such as networking, installation, Access database design, training, maintenance, upgrades and more.
Community involvement is something Ken considers extremely important. His volunteer work has included the Jaycees (Junior Chamber of Commerce), Rotary, the Scouts, United Way, soccer coach and a variety of other short term projects. His recreational interests include: playing and watching sports, bicycling, tennis, photography, genealogy, and
reading books like "The
Hitchhikers Guide to the
Universe" by Douglas Adams.
Over the years, Ken has shown that he is down to earth and a hard worker with a great sense of humor who loves helping people. Now he wants to put his continuing efforts into making Saratoga Springs a better place to live by being its next Commissioner of Finance. |
